Welcome to Northern Lights Resort & SPA !

We have built our Resort with pride, in the midst of one of the most beautiful places on earth, the Yukon. When we first came to this place, we knew we had found something very special. We were awed by the serenity and beauty of the land and by the people living here. The Yukon is simply beyond words.

Heartfelt Hospitality & Genuine Warmth

Treat yourself to some time out in the beautiful Yukon and let yourself be pampered by our team at the Northern Lights Resort & Spa. Our team will always tend to your needs:

Executive Chef – Cameron Dafoe. Since Cam was 7 years old he has been singularly focused on realizing his dream to become a chef. Cam is a Red Seal chef who graduated from The International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Vancouver at the top of his class. He has dedicated his professional career to creating outstanding dishes in top hotels, casinos and restaurants. With every dish he is guided by the philosophy that great food is the fuel for memories that will last a lifetime, best enjoyed over a shared table with family and friends.

Kate Dafoe – With over 15 years experience working in restaurants, Kate has had a hand in almost every aspect of restaurants that there is from hostess to General Manager and everything in between. After graduating from The International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Vancouver with an advanced diploma in culinary arts and restaurant management, she has worked at The Vancouver Golf Club honing her mixology skills and wine knowledge. Like anything worth doing, Kate has learned that the best part of the job is getting to interact and connect with people from different backgrounds, whether it is over a bar top or dining table.

Brandon Whey – From backpacking around Scandinavia and Asia, to spending a year in Japan, Brandon’s love for exploring is endless. Originally from Calgary, the beauty of the Yukon called and he is now watching the skies from a homely Tipi at the resort! Join him by the fire and check out a truly dark sky with countless stars, and a stunning Aurora that never gets old!

Stephanie Maire – is a French adventurer born and raised in the Alsace region, close to Germany. Speaking French, German and English (in addition to the native Alsatian dialect) she made her way to the Yukon a year ago, following a childhood dream : see the great North. After a 9 year (long) career in the 4 star hostelry industry on land and on river cruise ships sailing all around Europe, she followed her own pole star to the northernmost country on the other side of the Atlantic ocean. This motivated guide will take you through wonderful wild Whitehorse, make you take a step back in history on the way to the southern lakes, get you closer to the local animals in the Wildlife Preserve and tell you the legends surrounding the life of the first nations under the tepee while waiting to photograph some breathtaking (colourful) northern sky… lights.

Catalina Quiroga – or Cata as her friends call her, is a Chilean free spirited women who loves spending time in the mountains, hiking with her dog Nootka and skiing. She started her career in Tourism and Hospitality 9 years ago in Chile, where she graduated of Adventure Tourism and continued her passion in Canada by working at ski resorts, lodges and graduating from Resort and Hotel Management in Nelson. This past summer she and Nootka made her way up from BC to the Yukon and fell in love with it. Always happy to chat and share stories of travels, dogs and  how Barcelona is the best soccer team in the world, am I right?
